Sounds pretty nice, huh?

Since the spring, I have had it in my head to go back to school AGAIN. But this time I will finish.

I decided to go back to Baker and work off the credits I already have. The problem with Baker is that they don't full credits, so most of the credits either don't transfer, or they don't transfer at full credit. I also had to make the decision as to how I would get my schedule to fit Bakers. Not all the classes I needed to take were available online so I have to figure out how to work out taking the on site classes. With work, church and my visits with Seth; my schedule is pretty tight.

So today, I decided to look into the University of Phoenix. There is a learning center off Hall Road, so since I had the day off work, I went over there to talk to someone. After finding out that the entire program I want is offered as online classes, is offered at the associate and bachoelor level and they accept the finacial aid I have; I decided to enroll with them.

Typically, I will be taking 2 classes every 9 weeks. There are no breaks between classes, unless you want to take a break, so I can take classes all year round. Depending on how many credits transfer from all the schools I have attended in the last 10 years, if I start in August, I will graduate with my associates in March 2010. I think 17 months for an associates is not bad at all.

I am excited to be able to go to school at 2am if I truely want to. I think this is a good educational choice for me since I am a self taught kind of person anyways. I feel this will be the edge I need to finally finish a degree and get ahead in life. Everytime I have left school has been due to home or work reasons. If I can go to school at any time or day of the week, I think that takes away any excuse I have to fail.

So wish me luck! Classes start August 25!

It's good to be the OM

  • Jul. 7th, 2008 at 8:36 PM

It's good to be the office manager. I had court this morning so I got to work late. I am salary so I was paid to go to court. Then, over the weekend, the doc got a smart phone just like mine. So I spent the rest of the day in her office, coverting all her information from her palm to the smart phone and syncing the pc and laptop to the phone. Otherwise, I did absolutly nothing today and got paid.

I love that I have support staff to allow me to do the other things that need to be done. .

Went to Metro Beach today and there was a church holding a mass baptismal in the lake. It seemed like the entire church was there. You see something new every day.

This is summer right???

Hail??? On the second day of summer? It was an instant downpour that I thought there was someone outside pounding on my window. Hrmmm

One more good thing

  • Jun. 17th, 2008 at 6:25 PM

...about my smart phone is the ability to check my bank account off the internet. I can post to my LJ, take pictures and video, have my favorite mp3 as my ring tone and have turn by turn GPS navigation. As well as games and other favorite applications on the device. Did you know the infamous "they" have made a mobile version of The Sims 2 which is by far one of my favorite games.

I also have my outlook synced at home and work with my phone as the hub of it all. I have all my home and work contacts and schedules at my fingertips. I also was recently able to put my MSN email (hotmail, live, whatever they call themselves) into outlook which I think is new because Hotmail never used to support POP3.

The only thing I need now is a micro SD card larger than 512 mb. I am shopping for a 4 GB, but i thought they came in an 8 GB... 'cause we all need 8 GB of memory on our phone!!!!

He's smiling because he knows I can't do this.

Why

  • Jun. 16th, 2008 at 1:10 PM

So here I sit, waiting for 1:30. It seems as if I am always in trouble... I go to work and bust my ass and go home and take care of my family. I thought that I was doing all I could to keep my nose clean and It still manages to find me. I am ALWAYS in trouble. Right now I have not one but TWO lawyers under retainer. Shit, that is a first for me. It never seems to end... However, by advise of my attorney, that is all I am allowed to say. I need as many prayers as I can get.

On The Move

  • Apr. 16th, 2008 at 8:20 PM

Nicholas started to crawl yesterday. He also has two teeth popping out now, both on the left, one on top and one on the bottom.

He also magically learned to sit himself up all the way today and decided to manage his balance and not topple over.

Just 3 days ago, there was only rolling and backwards scooting. His sitting like a tripod and souldn't balance on his own.

It is amazing how babies just pick these things up so quickly.  He will be walking in a hot minute.

I had Seth all last week. He was able to come to work with me on Friday and we had some little mundane tasks for him to do. He punched in and out for the day and was paid $5.00 for his time.  He thought that was the best and he told Dr. Kue that he would be back for Mid-winter break to do more work.

Otherwise, same stuff here.  Still looking for a place to move. Had some problems with the IRS getting my taxes filed, but I think I was able to get it all stragihted out yesterday. I pray.

Forclosure

  • Apr. 7th, 2008 at 8:37 AM

Okay, so Jerry and I are looking to buy a home.  Scary thought, huh?  Well, we are looking for forclosures since they are way cheeper.

I found this one which is still in Mt. Clemens.  I think I want to stay there, since I will be close to  work, church and Seth.

 http://www.trulia.com/property/1052435882-36-Gallup-St-MI-Mount-Clemens-48043

This is one that I have found so far.  Jerry and I went over there yesterday  and out of 10 houses we looked at, we liked this one alot.  It looked pretty solid inside (through the windows) and will be fine until we could make some changes that we would want to do.

2,200 square feet and only $69,900. If we can get a FHA loan, I think we might just get it.  There is a HUGH back family room add on in the back, make a few changes to the front part of the house, like pull off the wood paneling that has been painted over and put new color schemes up.  We just have to see the upstairs and the basement and they we might be applying for loans soon.

Wish me luck.  We still have a whole list of other houses to look at, but I like Mt. Clemens and I like the type of houses there.  I surely do not want to live in some 1960's track housing where they are all cookie cutter homes.

Random Thought

  • Mar. 29th, 2008 at 9:44 AM

My life is pretty boring.  I go to work for 10 hours, come home and watch tv while playing on the computer and go to bed. Some days I will go to church for choir or bells or youth club, then come home and watch tv while on the computer and go to bed. Mt SIMS have a better life then I do.  I have Seth this weekend, and I just can't think of something to do with him.

I never go out.
I see all these people who put pictures up of them at the bar or at parties, and think, why can't that be me???  Because I have kids and I am poor as a result.  Boy that sucks.

But I excel at what I DO do. I and pretty much grounded at work.  I am the unoffical, offical office manager.  I am in charge of hiring and firing.  I am the only one with a front door key and can telecommute for work...

So that means something....

And whenever I do some special performance at church, I do receive many kudos..... So am doing some things special

This is a year of cleaning up my crap.

In January, I paid my license fees and reinstated my license for over $700.00.

In February, I was able to get car insurance and keep it running (knock on wood) while renewing my car registration.

In March, I was able to greatly increase my visitation with my son and make some amends with my ex.

I have also filed my 2004 and 2005 taxes and am expecting quite a nice refund.

I got on Jerry's worker comp lady because he was receiving health insurance as a fringe benifit and will now be getting a nice compensation payment for the payments he hasn't received since July of 2007.

I just filed our 2007 taxes, which only leaves 2006 to catch up on.

Since we will be getting ALOT of money in the next few months from taxes and worker's comp,  our plans are to.....

Buy a new car that will: fit our three kids at once, has working heat, all the doors open and close with out the use of props, and the hood closes on its own.  Not to mention, doesn't need repairs all the time.

We are going to move into a place that is larger then 500 sq. feet, has more then one bedroom,  and has storage room. Hopefully on the first floor. Hopefully a house with an option to buy.

We are also going to file bankruptcy to try to clean up some nasty debts that have been following both of us from previous relationships.

First, the money must come in.  Our plan is to wait until Mid-summer and then start to put things in motion.

The finer things in life.

I am so geeked - the new season of Dancing with the Stars started tonight.

Adam Corrella, Penn Gillette, Steve Gutenburg, Mario, Jason Taylor, Cristian de la Fuente for the men.

Shannon Elizabeth, Marlee Matlin, Priscilla Presley, Monica Seles, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Kristi Yamaguchi for the women.

I'd like to see how Marlee Matlin performs considering she is deaf.  I thought it was interesting last year that they had that british lady with the prostetic leg, but if you can't hear,  then how hard will it be to stay on beat.....

My favorite shows are Dancing With the Stars,  Lost on Thursdays nights,  The Riches on FX which starts their new season tomorrow, and Ghost Hunters on SciFi wednesdays. That is my weekly primetime line up as I am sitting at the computer doing "homework" for the office.  I'll watch some Dirty Jobs and almost anything on Discovery Health when there is nothing else on.

Otherwise, today I was given access to remote connect to the server at work, but I can't connect. I am wondering if it has something to do with the fact I am running Vista and the server is Microsoft Server 2003?

I sure have alot of posting that could be done from home as well as claims follow up and stuff.

If anyone has any suggestions,  help.

Do you believe in miracles?

  • Mar. 16th, 2008 at 11:37 PM

I do.

Thursday, I went to court for a review on the ongoing custody visitation stuff.  The goal was to acheive overnight weekend visits such.  So Jeremy tried very hard to put up a fuss to which the referree put astop to it.  Basically, he saw right through Jermey's crap that there was no good reason to not move foward with this case.  Then the referree told him he needed to get over the petty crap and start communicating effectivly with me for Seth's sake, since we are BOTH his parents

So now I have every other weekend from Friday 6:00 to Sunday 8pm; every Wednesday, alternating holidays and a week in the summer.

When I picked Seth up this Friday, Jeremy refused to send clothes with him.  It is this game that their family plays to not send clothes to the non-custodial parents for the overnights. They have been doing it since Jeremy was a child. But they will send clothes if they go to anut of uncles or friends or grandma's for overnight. I think it is a plot to make the child feel like the parent is not worthy to take of their clothes, or some stupid crap.  But really it just makes the child feel like crap and put a burden on the child.  I told Jeremy that that was crap, and I refuse to buy Seth a second wardrobe just for my house and that my child support goes towards buying clothes.  He tells me first that the clothes are dirty. After I told him to get the dirty clothes together and I'll wash them, he tells me that his step-mom buys the clothes not him, and she will not send them. To which I replied that I do not have any reason to keep or distroy the clothes and they are being completely unreasonable.  Then he tells me a day after he signs the visitation order, that he needs me to change Fridays from 6 pm to 4 pm and if I don't change it, I don't get Seth until Saturday.  He starts all this junk right in front of Seth a day after we agree to take a class on "Putting Children in the Middle" for this custody battle.  I told him that it would be very difficult to change the time due to my work schedule. He says oh well,  then I guess you don't get him until saturdays.

So the next day, I find that Jeremy is missing one of Seth's daily pills, so I had to go back to his house.  When I got there, I told Jeremy, that I would change my pick up time to 4:30, if he sent clothes. He tells me it is not going to happen and that he will file a motion to get what he wants.  Now he really thinks that the Judge is going to appreciate seeing a motion across his desk to change what was agreed to just days previous? It doesn't help our case that we have one of the meanest judges in the district court. So I leave with the meds and no clothes.  Took Seth to WallyWorld (wal-mart) to get some clothes and do some grocery shopping.  When I get home, there are two messages on my voice mail, from who else but Jeremy's step mom.  She tells me that she has clothes for me to pick up if I would like to stop by.  So I call Jeremy back and asked him if this means he will agree to the time change in exchange for clothes to be sent for the overnights.  He sheepishly replies yes, as long as they get them back and they are not trashed of caked in mud (because I'm that kind of person ya know). So I told him I would write it up and have him sign it so we could submit it to the  Friend of the Court (no friend of mine).

When I dropped Seth off tonight,  I gave him the agreement to sign and he did.  OMG - for the first time in Pointer family history, a child goes to an overnight at the parents with an overnight bag.  Holy shit.

And I have his signature, so it can be enforced if he doesn't send clothes.   Hahahahahahaha.

I think what happened is that he called his lawyer to request the motion be written up and she told him to go to hell.  Since we just talked about this exact crap on thurday, he needed to grow up, work with me for Seth's best intrest and take step-mom out of the picture.

Praise the Lord, miracles happen.

I got the "you're not my boss" attitude today.  I made a simple joke with a the girl who has been here for 20 + years.  The doctor recently did promote me to supervisor of everyone but her and she has made it clear that I will NOT tell her what to do, but today, I in jest had said to someone else, "oh, she did that? I'll have to yell at her", with absolutly no intention of saying a word to her.  And who walks up as I am saying this, but so-and so.  So she asks what? and I tell her it was nothing,  just to try and label something if you leave it at the front office... and she was pissed for the rest of the day.

Than at the end, since I am the only employee with a front door key, I have to wait for her to finish up her stuff, before I can leave.  She waits until the doc leaves, and then ambushes me with her pissed off attitude.  Why are you saying this and say that.... Well, if the doc wasn't coming to me with questions, I wouldn't come to you.  "Well, you NOT my boss."....

I am getting really tired of this supervisor shit fast.  I get the, well the girl your training doesn't want to do anything.  That is not my fault.  I keep telling her that she has to step up and help out and I keep turning things back to her that she tried to pawn off on me.  And I am hoping she will get the point. Her mistakes are going back to her and her questions are going back to her to resolve.  And I get the b.s.,  but sure,  when your feel like it, just use me as your punching bag becuase your in a bad mood and misunderstood.

That is fine. I will sit at my desk and do my billing and keep my fucking mouth shut.  That is the enviroment I love to work in.

After 1 1/2 years, I got my license back.  Thank god, 'cause I was so tired of driving around being scared out of my mind of getting caught.

Got a promotion at work.  I am now the first office full time employee of my company.  It is so funny; we had a staff meeting yesterday and one of the girls who works in the back and does the absolute minimum responded to the announcement with "Does that mean she is going to get holiday pay, and does that mean she is going to get vacation pay?"

Yeah, that means I am going to get some benefits, but I am also on salary and work 60 hours a week for the pay of 40.  That I am the first person in the office at 7:30 every morning and the last to leave everyday.  And that I clean up the office after everyone and bust my ass to get the system cleaned up and pick up the slack in the office and I drop what I am doing to help with her work in the back when she falls behind.

And she is alway the last one to come in, and the first to leave.  She refuses to go to school to become an official medical assistant (she learned "enough" with what we taught her) even when it is being offered to be paid for her.  She never preps for the next day and admits to leaving stuff for someone else to take care off.  And when you try to talk to her about what she is doing wrong, she either thinks it is funny or thinks your picking on her and threatens to quit whilst copping an attitude.

Anyways,  Seth comes over tomorrow.  Our family is on a guitar kick.  I have an acoustic;  we bought Seth a kid sized acoustic and H=Jerry just bought an electric.  So, Partridge family, move over.... Strudel is on her way.

Asking for Prayers, well wishes, good karma mojo Jerry's way.  He had a second opinion with a different orthopedic and after being off work for 6 months now,  he is being recommended for surgery.  Micro-discectomy.  and he is kinda freaking out about it.  However, I have to get daycare lined up first, because after the surgery, he cannot lift over 10 pounds for the following 3 months. Nicholas already weighs in at 20 pounds at 5 months.

Ho Hum

  • Jan. 4th, 2008 at 5:14 PM

Well, Here I sit, on friday afternoon, 5:30 pm and everyone else has left over an hour ago.  Here I sit, the one who puts more effort into her work then it may seem nessecary.  Yes, I am the newly appointed full time employee at a salary rate.  You got it,  I am now just a part of the wood work.  I am here when every one else is not.    Sigh...

But I do have a new girl starting on monday.  She is an extern, so there will be alot of training to do.

The holidays came and went faster then ever this year.  Had a few places to visit and had fun doing it,  had even more fun once it was over.  I got a few presents, most of which were completely unexpected.  I got my engagement ring.  It is pretty.  Finally, someone loves me enough to buy me diamonds.  I am getting my drivers license back in the next 2 weeks.  Paid the bulk of the fines, and now just have two more things to take care of and I am good to go.

Things are going slow but surely and I can't ask for more.

Im going to hell

  • Nov. 16th, 2007 at 6:38 PM

My headache is gone.  She blew her final straw in the wind.  She thought she could do whatever she wanted, tested the doc and lost.  Now I am responsible for all billing and front office stuff.  How fun...I just wanted her to cooperate with the fact that I was trying to clean up the finances. She decided to call in this morning at 8am, and when the doc said no, you need to come in for at least a half hour, I have questions to ask and things to resolve; she decided to still not come in.  She called at 10 am and told me she couldn't come in and when I tried to transfer the call to the doc, she said I will have to call you back, my phone is messed up.  Then it was phone tag all day.  She got several calls from each of us to get her to come in for even a few minutes and it didn't happen.  She knew what was going on because she called me a dozen times the day I got fired back in March.  So, I guess after 10 years of service, she decided she had enough.
